And anyone who has escaped the pollution of the world by coming to know our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and then allows himself to be entangled and mastered by it a second time, ends up by being worse than he was before.
Every generation is always faced with one form of adolatory or the other. Our own generation is not left out. Most of us today are slaves of beauty and social media. We may also have or bad habits we have become so addicted to that we find it hard to let go.
From the spiritual point of view, addiction can become a clog in the wheel of our spirituality. When it comes to addiction, nobody is exempt. We are all addicted to something. But how can we come out of addiction, that is a fundamental question? From the scriptural verse above, we all know that only Jesus can actually set us free from addiction but there must be that willingness for us to first agree that we wanna come out of that habit and seek help after make a very strong resolution. Most times some people make resolutions and renounce their old habits without engaging in a constant prayer commitment. Resolution that is not laced with daily prayer commitment is empty in content. When we renounce old habits and don’t go into prayer commitment, that life style becomes more attractive to us than before but if we back it up with prayer, we lose appetite for that life style. We daily prayer and efforts, we can actually over whatever we are addicted to by God’s grace…
